Washington, D.C. – Prepared statement by Keith Ashdown,Vice President of Taxpayers for Common Sense on the Government Accountability Office's decision on the C-130J Avionics Modernization Program bid protest:
This is further confirmation that Darleen Druyun unscrupulously steered billions of dollars for Air Force contracts to the doorstep of Boeing Corporation. The bid protest shows that not only was Druyun biased, but that the Air Force itself had a rampant institutional bias toward Boeing in relation to the C-130J. Once again, Boeing has proven that having the right connections and friends in high places is more important than producing a high quality product. Despite senior Boeing officials trying to wish this controversy away, the evidence continues to suggest that this culture of corruption is a billion dollar cash cow for Boeing.
