The Presidential Budget Request is the first step towards funding the government for the coming fiscal year. Traditionally released on or before the first Monday in February, the President submits their detailed budget request to Congress for the next fiscal year, which begins October 1st. It is an opportunity for administrations to share their policy priorities and funding wish lists with Congress and the American people.
