First Horizon National Corporation is a holding company for First Tennessee Bank National Association and other banking-related subsidiaries. In February 2008, Sterling Bancshares, Inc.'s subsidiary, Sterling Bank, completed the acquisition of 10 bank branches located in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas from First Horizon National Corp. As of the end of 2007, First Tennessee Bank had approximately 500 business locations in 42 U.S. states and Hong Kong; and 216 financial centers in 6 states. According to its website, First Horizon National Corporation is one of the top 30 bank holding companies in the U.S.
