Deep Dive: National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)

Policy is set in authorizing legislation, and the annual Pentagon policy bill, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), has passed Congress every year for over six decades. As one of the few bills to gain true, bipartisan support in these polarized times, the NDAA is also a magnet for questionable policies and things that have nothing to do with national security. We read the bills and report on the details as the House and Senate Armed Services Committees craft them each year.
