The Biorefinery, Renewable, Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Assistance Program (formerly the Biorefinery Assistance Program) provides grants and loan guarantees to producers of advanced biofuels or heat and power from various bioenergy crops and feedstocks.
The Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 includes $75 million each year in discretionary funding FY14-23 (down from $200 million in mandatory funding in total from FY14-16 in the 2014 farm bill and $75 million in discretionary funding each year from FY14-18). While the intent of the program has been to spur the production of advanced sources of biofuels, in practice mature biofuel sources have received funding from the program.
