The controversial National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC), located in a former department store in the congressional district of Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA), the powerful Chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, has been widely criticized as being a massive waste of taxpayer money.
Many have tried to eliminate the earmark for being wasteful and duplicative. Even the President was unsuccessful in killing it. Just this year, NDIC received $24.5 million in the FY 2009 Defense Appropriations bill.
Well today, Americans get a chance to see what their tax dollars pay off. This morning NDIC released National Drug Threat Assessment 2009. It’s one of the only things they do with the $24.5 million.
Take a look at it and let us know what you think.
