C & F Financial Corporation (C & F Financial) is a bank holding company that owns all of the stock of its sole operating subsidiary, C&F Bank (Citizens and Farmers Bank or the Bank), an independent commercial bank that originally opened for business under the name Farmers and Mechanics Bank. The company was founded in 1927 and is based in West Point, Virginia. In January, C&F announced the sale of $20 million in securities to the Treasury Department as part of Treasury’s Capital Purchase Program.
