The Bank is a state-chartered commercial bank. The Bank operates in the central Piedmont and the northwestern region of North Carolina. In April 2008, Yadkin completed the acquisition of Cardinal State Bank. The company was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Elkin, North Carolina.
