After searching all 99 senate websites (remember the Coleman/Franken Minnesota race is still unresolved), we now have a complete database of House and Senate Fiscal Year 2010 earmark requests. Click here for the database
Much like we found with the House websites , senators took different approaches to the Appropriations Committee’s requirement that earmark requests be posted on the senator’s official website. A number of senators made links to their requests available on their homepages, including Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY), while others took a little more digging into “ Press Shops ”, Issues & Legislation , Constituent Services, or some other category . How the senator’s formatted their disclosures also varied greatly with requests presented in pdf, html, integrated databases , lists, and actual letters.
We encourage you to download the database yourself and see how your senators (and representative) are disclosing their earmark requests. And let us know what you think.
